Ps3 Why Is My Upload Speed Slow
Hello duders,
Can some cyberspace genius assist me out with my damn PS3! 9/x times i endeavor to sign into PSN i'll get a DNS error 807, and when I practise sign in its so wearisome that it'll take xxx secs to load up my friends list and then another 10 secs per person to proceeds their profile pic. I've done my enquiry and messed around with the manual internet settings setting the DNS primary and secondary to various things, merely none of it works. Moreover I dont have a single bit of technical knowledge nearly what im doing and then its super hard to back track and find the solution myself. All i want to do is play a chip of COD! but i cant, because if i do get online, whilst I seem to take no lag at all everyone else on the killcam seems super juttery and I'm always killed by people that i havent seen just on the killcam they seemingly were there all forth.
So any ideas anyone? Sorry for the lack of technical info, if you want info go tell me where to observe information technology and ill post it up.
Because its not a paid service. Its free- you get what you pay for.
PSN sucks. I downloaded Infamous a few days ago and it took NINE HOURS.
150 is customer services, 151 is full general faults. Non sure almost theit BB numbers. I'thousand asuming BT are your ISP and it's non just your PS3 that's wearisome?
Seems like y'all have it sorted, good luck other than your net speed, I can't think of annihilation that would cause information technology,
@MysteriousBob:
Saying "You get what y'all pay for" is a scrap of a bullshit merits when information technology works well for the bulk of people,
I've never had any problems with PSN. If y'all live in USA I'd blame information technology on your net connection, because it seems like Usa has terrible cyberspace providers. Also try using a cablevision instead of wifi (if that'due south what yous're using).
Information technology has very picayune to do with PSN being paid or non.
ARGH! I did everything the stupid sony woman said "damn you tracey" it still doesnt work
I alive in Washington and go 35 Mb/s down and xv Mb/s up and my PS3 speeds are great. Hell I'm even going through two routers(double port-forwarding going on). Did you bother to read your PS3's instructions and port-forward the proper ports for the PSN? Does your internet connection or network connection just suck? Are you running torrents at the same fourth dimension you are trying to game on a low bandwidth connection?
My PS3 internet used to be fast, but something in the last 4-5 months has made it painfully annoying. Takes forever to sign in some days, others it patently just won't and gives me error codes.
Downloading stuff from PSN Store takes many millennia, which too used to be fast on my connection.
Funny matter is that it's only my PS3 that has these bug, my main computer my Mac Book runs fine, net downloads and uploads with full connection. My Windows 7 car works fine to, and my wife's bastard laptop running Vista has no issues either.
PSN in full general is painfully slow compared to Steam or XBL. Download speeds are capped at terribly depression levels and it takes forever to sync friends/trophies.
Like someone else said, you get what y'all (don't) pay for. Although as a PS+ fellow member, I get no speed boost. I can download a 2GB game on Steam or XBL in a few minutes. On PS3 it might take half an hour to an hour.
I've never had speed issues with PSN other than when it came back up subsequently the calendar month of outage. My downloads go about 1mb/s which is what they practice on steam.
Because its not a paid service. Its free- you become what you pay for.I get better service on my Wii and that's a free service also.
I've been having issues besides. Along with numerous "log-outs" and DNS errors, it took me 12 hours to download a couple of gigs of LA Noire DLC. About 10mbs would download about a mb a second, and then freeze for 5 minutes, resume for 10mbs or then, freeze, download, etc. until the download would complete or I'd become a DNS error and accept to reboot the system.
I ended up rebooting my network router and cable modem and at present the connection to the PS3 is stable. Information technology's still slow every bit hell, though, nigh 2-3 mbps download speed (via the connection test) when I become at least 30 from my ISP.
information technology'due south fast for me
Dull for me over wired/wireless, my connection is very fast on my 360 or PC.
PSN is wearisome. There is nothing you can exercise assuming your net connection is faster with other sites. PSN has shit bandwidth available for downloading. If they offered faster downloads via Plus memberships that would make the service more interesting.
Considering PSN is hot garbage.
I sometimes struggle to sign into PSN as the router by my PC is not great so I go 80% bespeak forcefulness at all-time (equally doejonathan said you can examination this under network settings)
If possible move ane or the other nearer to the other and brand sure no 1 else is online while your trying to sign in. also opening doors tin aid the betoken travel.
Good luck with information technology!
Took me merely as long. PSN has the slowest downloads.PSN sucks. I downloaded Infamous a few days agone and it took 9 HOURS.

Looks like the PS3 actually does everything.
Back when I had a expert ISP, information technology was never boring. I'd download annihilation in less than 10 minutes. I remember downloading the 12GB Mass Effect ii trial in ane hour.

For me PSN always takes three to iv times longer than XBL. The problem is with PSN, not my connection.
Get to Network Settings, turn off media server detector or whatever it's called. I had the aforementioned problem, as shortly every bit I turned information technology off information technology started to work perfectly.
If you already take it turned off, I don't know.

Overnice dodge on my previous logic question though!

#firstworldproblems candidates, these replies.
But aye, information technology'southward non fast, if that's what you're saying. Painfully slow? No.
But nothing virtually PSN, or the PS3 interface for that matter, is fast in general.
I honestly still don't understand the "PS3 cyberspace is slow!" complaints. My internet is fast, just nothing special, and I have ever downloaded stuff at a relatively practiced clip. The last large item I got was the Uncharted three beta and that was moving at nearly 2MB/south, which is the fastest I tin go on Steam or anything else I download. Any time anyone complains near download speed I instantly blame their connectedness or setup, 'cuz mine is fine and always has been.
I will admit, though, that I saw a noticeable increase in PSN swiftness some time ago (similar a year or two, I don't remember) that came out of nowhere, simply since so it's been the same for me.
I only gave upwards long ago on expecting fast speeds out of psn for game and patch downloading its e'er been slow for me. my ps3 wired uses probably about xv% of my connections possible speed.
check if your router has back up for DD-WRT, the custom firmwares really help alot, and use a DNS benchmarker to option the all-time server for your IP and location
